Susan made one of these little aprons for both of her granddaughters. Little Miss Sugarfoot wore hers to help make her first pot of chili and this is Little Miss Sugarbritches making a gingerbread house. Susan whipped up the aprons without a pattern, got it in the mail, and then realized she didn’t trace off a pattern to keep. I’ll bet one of her daughters will help her get a copy.

If any of you are looking forward to some time in the kitchen with your own apron, I thought I’d share one of Susan’s favorite recipes. She says it’s the best cake she’s ever had!

Dibble Dabble Apple Cake

3 eggs
1 1/2 c oil
2 c sugar
3 c self rising flour
1 lb can applesauce
1 c chopped nuts
2 c coconut
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon

Cream eggs, oil, sugar. Sift in flour. Add remaining ingredients. Bake in a large pan 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Icing
1 stick margarine
1 c brown sugar
1/4 c milk

Let come to a boil. Cook 2 mins. Pour over cake while hot.

Enjoy!
