Sock Monkeys

I’ve been spending my time at home making Sock Monkeys. Some have asked me to put their pictures up. So here they are. They are going to live in Kansas with Jenna Grace. I’m glad they are finished. Oh! Now I have to make Sophie some too, but that can wait. Her birthday isn’t until October. I had visions of getting these made for Christmas. I can always think it up faster than making it. Whatever IT is. Yall have a good day, I’m going to work on a quilt.

Still Quilting

I finally finished this little red quilt. I just love it! The back of the quilt is pieced with my left over blocks. Oh Wow! I really like this for backings. Iwent through the shop and gathered up all of the red and whites and put them on the red bench. We are loving this winter. Really mild after last years winter.

This is the easy pattern I used in the previous post. I added a border to my quilt.

This is one of the easiest quilts I've ever done. I used 30's fabric and a dot from Moda for the centers and border. For the binding I used scraps form the 30's fabric.I think I'll make another one using some of this new civil war fabric. I've been so busy trying to be ready for this spring that I forgot a Dr. appointment this week but remembered an appointment to get my hair cut. I guess I need to get a little more organized!
New fabric is rooling in I think we have about 125 new fabrics since the first of the year, and more to come. OH!! Where am I going to put all this fabric? So come on by and check them out. We will have lots of specials during Mountain Quilt Fest in March.

This and That

We had our first little snow of the winter Thursday night. The wind was blowing so hard that not much landed on the ground. Must have been slick as they closed most of the schools. I finally made it to the shop around 11. It has been beautiful sunny but cold this weekend. I’ve been puttering around cleaning the shop and moving things around. I found a couple of antique tables and a great basket that I’ve filled with fat quarters. I’m working on this “hour glass” quilt. Still have borders to add. I just love these reds.

Welcome 2012

Another year has rolled around. Can you believe it? Maybe I can get a few of those things finished this year that didn’t get finished last year. Ha Ha! We’ll see.Sure hope yall had a wonderful Christmas holiday. Ours was wonderful here. All the KIDS and GRANDS were home. Santa left me a stocking with all kinds of goodies. It’s the first one I’v had in years. I especially like the ” Fat Eights”!! I’ve got to get busy and make me a list of patterns I want to try. It is 62 today. More like spring, but I’m sure it won’t last. Here is something I’m working on with my
Fat 8ths from my stocking. I think it will be a table topper. I’m using my triangulations to make 3 1/2″ hourglass blocks. And check out that cute little cutting mat from MODA.

Sew Much Fabric Sew Little Time!

This is a Christmas throw I should have finished long ago. I sold all of the fabric so just layed it aside. It is finished now. Maybe it will inspire someone to try the Disappearing 9 patch. Placemats and napkins are finished. The days are ticking away.

Still Catching Up

Aprons are finished, 16 placemats almost finished. Five pillowcases to finish. Then there are those quilts that need quilting. I THINK I’m making progress. Cooking for Christmas will be a breeze. Sophie has requested PB & Jelly sandwiches, now to convince the rest of the family. I’m still hearing about not having dressing for Thanksgiving.
So how is everyone else doing on your Christmas projects???

Twelve Fat Quarter Throw

Clark and I want to wish each of you the best Thanksgiving ever! We will be closed Thanksgiving day. Don’t forget the Fat Quarters are all on SALE this week. I’ve got to quilt 3 more quilts then I think I’ll be caught up with those projects. Then I need to tackle those projects that are just cut out. Two little granddaughter aprons, pillowcases, and placemats. I’ve promised myself not to start anything until I finish these.

This is my Bright Hopes pattern made with 12 fat quarters. I really didn’t know if I liked this fabric but after after I got it together I thought it was very pretty. Speaking of FAT QUARTERS we will be having our annual FAT QUARTER SALE Thanksgiving week. November 21-26. So come on in and stock up. All Fat Quarters will be $2.00 each.
