This is a fun little project Susan taught her oldest daughter how to make when she was looking for a quick gift idea for her girlfriends. It comes together quickly and it’s fun to choose different fabrics for the scarves.

I thought I’d share a recipe for a fruit salad that’s great in the winter when we don’t have the nice variety of fruit that we do in the summer. Susan’s mother, Margaret, always made this for Sunday dinner.

Five Cup Salad

1 cup mandarin oranges (drain and cut)
1 cup crushed pineapple (drain)
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup sour cream or cool whip
1 cup coconut

Combine and refrigerate overnight when possible.

Susan sent two of these cute little journal covers out as a surprise gift. They make a pretty quick little project and would be ideal for the list maker in your life or to jot down a few thoughts.

These are pocket sized notebooks that slide in and out of the cover. Perfect to keep in your purse.

Here’s a recipe that’s been a favorite around here during the holidays.

Carmel Balls

1 box powdered sugar
2 c graham cracker crumbs
1 c nuts, chopped
2 sticks margarine, melted
1 c coconut
1 tsp vanilla

Melt butter in large pot. Add other ingredients and mix well. Make into balls. Dip in butterscotch or chocolate chips. Cool and enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my customers! In thankfulness for all our blessings we are having our “FAT QUARTER” SALE again, November 24-29. We will not be cutting any fat quarters during this week or breaking up any bundles. We will be closed November 27.

Here is a quick candy that doesn’t take long to make and everyone will think you have worked sooooo hard! Leaves plenty of time to quilt.

1 bag chocolate chips
1 stick butter
1 cup chopped nuts
powdered sugar

Melt chocolate chips and butter in a large bowl in the microwave on low for 1 minute at a time. Let this cool a little and add 1 bag of miniture marshmallows and 1 cup of chopped nuts. Mix this until the marshmallows are coated with the chocolate. Spread in a 9×13 glass dish and sprinkle with powered sugar. Chill overnight or at least a couple of hours. Slice into squares and enjoy.

I promise this will be a hit! It freezes well.
